Terms of Service
Last updated 25 October 2026
LEGAL), and these pages need review by a lawyer in each launch country before UrbanX goes live. These terms are the agreement between you and [Company legal name] (“UrbanX”, “we”) for using the UrbanX website and apps. By creating an account or using UrbanX, you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy, Cancellation & Refund Policy and Community Guidelines. If you list a venue or run paid meetups, the Turf Partner Terms or Organizer Terms apply too.
1. What UrbanX is
UrbanX helps people find others to play sport with: you discover players, meetups and sports venues (“turfs”) on the radar, plan meetups, book turf slots, join communities, post and message. UrbanX is a platform. We don’t run the venues or the meetups: venues are operated by their owners (“partners”), and each meetup is run by the player who created it (the “organizer”).
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Don’t create accounts for others or pretend to be someone else.
3. Meetups and turf bookings
- Creating a meetup at a turf books that slot and charges you, the organizer, the turf price shown before you pay (plus any booking fee shown). Booked slots are held for you; the venue’s own rules apply while you’re there.
- Meetups set to “Everyone nearby” can be found and joined by anyone on UrbanX. Members-only meetups are for the chosen community; invite-only meetups don’t appear to others.
- Organizers decide the details of their meetup: sport, level, group size and who can join. If you join, please turn up or leave in time so others can take your place.
- Cancellations and refunds follow our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
4. Paid meetups
An organizer can charge a price per player. You pay that price to join and receive a ticket. UrbanX collects the payment on the organizer’s behalf, keeps a commission of 10% and pays the rest to the organizer after the meetup. Whether you get money back if you leave or the meetup is cancelled is set out in the refund policy.
5. Payments
- Prices are shown in the venue’s or meetup’s currency, and you see the full amount before you pay.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- Refunds go back to the method you paid with.
6. Following, visibility and messages
- Following someone sends them a request. Once they accept, you see their full profile and their posts, and the two of you can message each other. Until then you see their name, photo, banner and follower counts.
- Group chats for a community or meetup are open to its members or the people going.
- You can block anyone. Blocking removes follows both ways, and neither of you sees the other’s posts or can message the other.
7. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you post: posts, photos, comments, messages and your profile.
- You give UrbanX a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process that content only as needed to run UrbanX and show it to the people you’ve chosen (for example, your accepted followers). The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others already received, such as messages in their chats.
- Only post what you have the right to share, and don’t post other people’s private information or photos of them without their consent.
- We remove photo metadata, including location, from photos you upload.
- We may remove content or limit accounts that break these terms or the Community Guidelines.
8. What you mustn’t do
- Break the law, harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent content.
- Create fake meetups, listings or bookings, or take payment outside UrbanX for a paid meetup listed on UrbanX.
- Spam people, collect other users’ data, scrape UrbanX or use bots.
- Try to break, overload or get around UrbanX’s security or limits.
9. Sport, health and safety
Sport carries a risk of injury. You take part in meetups and use venues at your own risk, and you’re responsible for knowing your fitness, using suitable gear and following the venue’s rules. Meet in public places, and see the safety tips in the Community Guidelines. UrbanX doesn’t check players’ fitness or organizers’ qualifications, and isn’t responsible for injuries or losses at meetups or venues, except where the law doesn’t allow us to exclude that responsibility.
10. Our service
We work to keep UrbanX available and accurate, but we provide it “as is”: venue details, availability and meetup information come from partners and organizers, and we can’t guarantee them. We may change, add or remove features. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid UrbanX for the booking or ticket the claim is about, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by contract.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using UrbanX at any time and ask us to delete your account through Contact & Grievances. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, after a warning where that’s reasonable. Bookings and tickets already paid for are handled under the refund policy.
12. Intellectual property
The UrbanX name, logo and app belong to [Company legal name]. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors. Some icons come from Font Awesome Free (CC BY 4.0) and Lucide (ISC licence).
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as UrbanX changes. For important changes we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use UrbanX after that means you accept the new terms.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to [the courts of [city, state, country]], without taking away any right you have to bring a claim in the courts where you live. Please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
