LEGAL), and these pages need review by a lawyer in each launch country before UrbanX goes live.UrbanX uses only the cookies it needs to work: there are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics. This page lists them, what your browser stores for us, and the outside services our pages load from.
1. Cookies
| Cookie | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
sessionid | Keeps you signed in, and remembers the location you shared for the radar. | 2 weeks, or until you sign out |
csrftoken | Security: makes sure forms you submit really come from you. | 1 year |
messages | Carries one-time notices, such as “Posted”, to the next page. | Until the notice is shown |
django_language | Remembers the language you picked. Set only when you pick one. | 1 year |
The first three are strictly necessary and the language cookie is only set when you ask for it, so none of them needs your consent. If you block cookies, you won’t be able to sign in, and UrbanX shows in your browser’s language or English.
2. What your browser stores
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
urbanx-theme | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. |
urbanx-favorite-sports | Remembers your favourite sports on the radar before you sign in. |
urbanx-sidebar | Remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar. |
These stay on your device and aren’t sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
3. Outside services
- OpenStreetMap map images load from OpenStreetMap’s servers, which receive your IP address and the map area shown.
- Google Fonts serves UrbanX’s fonts. Your browser downloads them from Google, which receives your IP address.
Neither sets cookies through UrbanX.
4. Managing cookies
Your browser’s settings let you see and delete cookies and site data. For more about how we use data, see our Privacy Policy.
